Team News

March 10th
On March 2-4, Bantam White competed in the GSL Tier 3 State Tournament at Conway Arena in Nashua. Entering as the #1 seed (and target!) in a very even grouping of teams, Hanover emerged the winner of its round robin bracket with a tie against the Manchester Flames and a win over the host Nashua Panthers, despite having one defenseman out sick and another out on a suspension arising from an accidental injury-penalty in the first period of the first game. In Sunday's semifinals, Hanover was outgunned by a much-improved Oyster River team, losing 3-6. Oyster River, the only GSL team to beat us all season, went on to win the Tier 3 title, defeating Nashua by a score of 3-2 in the championship game.

Our final season record (see table below): 23-4-7. Average per game goals for = 4.18, goals against = 2.35. (Both averages are comparable with the best teams in the NHL this season.) Thanks to players, coaches, and HHA for a great year!

January 31st
Bantam White Brings Home The Hardware From The Cabin Fever Tournament!

On January 26-28, Bantam White traveled to Glens Falls, NY, to compete
in the Cabin Fever Tournament hosted by the Adirondack Youth Hockey
Association. Hanover scored three straight round-robin victories over
strong New York teams (see game record below), and then played a
thrilling rematch with an aggressive Lake Placid team in the
championship final. After battling hard to a 3-3 tie after two periods,
Hanover notched the game-winning goal with just a few minutes left on
the clock, and then held off an intense Lake Placid assault to earn the
tournament championship. The smiles on the photo above capture the
elation of this moment, and the great spirit of this team.

Currently at the top of the GSL Tier 3 standings and undefeated in
league play, Bantam White is on track to compete in the State Tournament
at Nashua's Conway Arena on March 2-4, 2007. GO WILD!
