HHA LEARN-TO-PLAY WILD HOCKEY (LTPW)
 LTPW Contact:    Dan French
      H: (802) 649-5427     C: (603) 381-5428

Program Focus: The Initiation Programs (LTPW and Wild Mites) are designed to introduce children to the sport of hockey while developing skating, puck handling (such as passing, receiving, and shooting), and team skills. There is also an emphasis on learning about hockey and having fun in a team-oriented environment.

Learn To Play Wild (LTPW): This program is for all players ages 4-8 (as of Dec. 31) with no previous hockey experience. We ask that LTPW players have enough skating ability to balance on their skates and move forward on the ice without assistance.  For those who might be older or more advanced, a select few players (generally older players and/or those who demonstrate sufficient skill), may be invited to join the Wild Mites house league program no later than early December, if numbers allow.

The on-ice sessions will feature an active clinic-style approach with lots of hands-on coaching and instruction. There will be three separate 7-week sessions, so players can register for all three, or just one or two sessions. Registration for each session is open all year. The LTPW program is designed so that the youngest players (for instance, those starting LTPW at age 4 and 5) can spend a second season in LTPW before moving up to the Wild Mite (WM) program.

Schedule: LTPW is broken into three separate sessions.  Players can register for any session at any time.  Each session is about 7 weeks.  Practices are generally on Saturday and Sundays at 8am-9am at the Campion Rink in Hanover.  For those who have conflicts on a certain day, or a weekend, that is never a problem at the LTPW level.
ALL LTPW players skate together at EVERY LTPW practice.
Session start dates for LTPW (approx):
Session 1- Late October Oct 30 for 2010)
Session 2- Mid December ( @ Dec 18 for 2010)
Session 3- Early February (ending @ March 20, 2011)

Fees:  HHA has developed a fee structure that reflects the projected enrollment and costs of the programs. Each player will receive a Hanover Hockey LTPW jersey. In addition to these fees, all players must be registered with USA Hockey before skating in any HHA program. This annual registration fee is $31, which is waived by USA Hockey for players aged 6 and under.

Learn to Play Wild*- $125 per individual Clinic Season (2009-10 fee)
$325 three LTPW Clinics paid in advance option**   (2009-10 fee)
    Wild Mites-  $325 season
    * Refunds of the registration fee less a $30 trial fee will be made to those who try these initiation programs for up to 3 skates and find that it is not for them.
** Paid in advance options are available only if paid in full by September 12, 2010.
